About Us

The Delaware Valley Hepatitis Treatment, Research and Education Center (HepTREC) is a not-for-profit organization established in 2002 to reduce the impact of viral hepatitis in the Delaware Valley. We foster open communication and cooperation among academic medical institutions, community health care providers, public health workers and the public. Our vision includes making accurate and up-to-date information on hepatitis readily available to the general public.

HepTREC’s staff and advisory board is comprised of professionals recognized as regional, national, and international experts in the fields of hepatology, infectious diseases, education, service research, epidemiology, care of hepatitis patients, innovation in health care systems, and non-profit management.

HepTREC’ s services include:

  • Public awareness campaigns,
  • Primary prevention programs including education, immunization, and harm reduction
  • Education, support, and social services for hepatitis patients, their families and friends
  • Education and training programs for health care professionals
  • Secondary hepatitis prevention programs including hepatitis C screening
  • Research investigating optimal service provision
  • Treatment referrals
